Mobile phone and NBN bundles
Mobile and broadband bills tend to take up a good chunk of money every month, so if you’re with the same provider it makes sense to bundle them together.
Bundles are a bit harder to come by then back in the home phone days, but there are still options.
MATE
Any MATE broadband plan can be bundled with a SIM-Only plan for a $10 per month discount. The provider is a Telstra wholesale provider, meaning that it uses Telstra’s mobile network, but not all of it. Every Telstra MVNO (bar Boost Mobile) utilises most, but not all of the provider’s extensive mobile network.

MATE mobile plans are SIM-Only meaning that you’ll need to bring your own device. Plans start from $20 per month, which is pretty much $10 when you factor in the discount.

Vodafone
Vodafone allows you to bundle up to five plans under one account for a discount of 5% per additional plan. This means opting to have your mobile and broadband bundled with Vodafone could get you up to 20% off your monthly bill.
Mobile plans with Vodafone have had a shake up since the TPG merger, sporting faster ‘unlimited’ download speeds, beefier data allowances and consistent discounts along with them. Download speeds on unlimited plans are now 2Mbps, 10Mbps or 25Mbps depending on which plan tier you are on. The higher your data allowance is, the faster your ‘unlimited’ capped speed will be once you burn through your monthly data. Both Telstra and Optus have unlimited data on postpaid plans, capped at just 1.5Mbps download speeds.

Your other option is to go with SpinTel, although you won’t have carte blanche to pick the SIM with your plan.
The provider offers a 4GB SIM Only mobile plan for just $9.95 within it’s NBN Unlimited Plus, and NBN Unlimited Premium bundles.

Cheap mobile phone and NBN bundles
Although the aforementioned mobile and NBN bundles will save you money, if you really want to pull in the purse strings you’ll need to make some sacrifices here and there.
Opting for MATE’s NBN #greatmates plan, with it’s good mates 8GB data SIM Only plan will end up costing you $69 per month. You’ll need to be okay with speeds maxing out at 25Mbps however, which should generally be fast enough to accommodate a two person household.

Vodafone’s cheapest options come in at $55 for an NBN 25 plan, and $35 for a 50GB SIM-Only Lite Plan. Sans-discount you’re looking at $90 per month for your mobile and broadband connection, but add in the 5% off and that is down to $85.50, or a $54 saving per year.

NBN package deals may not be very popular but they're still more popular than mobile phone and mobile broadband bundles. Currently the only provider that will offer a discount on these services in Vodafone.
Participating Vodafone services under the same account yield a discount of 5% each, up to 20% for five plans. Go with Vodafone for both your mobile broadband, and your mobile plan to reap the benefits.

Data sharing on mobile and mobile broadband bundles
Although you may not be able to get a discount, some providers allow data sharing across both mobile and mobile broadband plans. Optus and Vodafone let you draw from a central Data Bank or Data Pool when eligible plans are connected on the same account.
This means you can opt for a lower data allowance on one plan and a high one on the other in order to save money.

Home phone and internet bundles
Not getting out much? Or maybe you still prefer the feel of a cord wrapped around your fingers as you chat away. Whatever your reason, home phone and internet bundles are still an option although they look a bit different than they used to.
Traditional landlines simply don’t work with a fixed line NBN connection, so if you want to go down this route you’ll need to sign up with a VoIP (voice over internet protocol) phone line instead.
